My Message:
I am the daughter of a 1949 graduate, Karl Davenport, and his twin brother, Jack.
Jack A Davenport Dod 09-21-1951 Korea -congressional medal of honor recipient (the newspaper article states his 1949 football team players purchased a gold trophy to be awarded to the outstanding football player each year. I am curious if that is still done or when the last time it might have been given.)
Karl A Davenport (twin to Jack) DOD June 4, 2023 Dallas, TX
Thank you for your time
Paseo Alliance Response: Debbi, it is much appreciated that you provided us with information about your father Karl. It has been noted on two pages of The Paseo Alliance website, Student Roster By Last Name and In Memoriam.
We have also updated our records concerning your Uncle, Jack. He was quite a hero to us all.

I would like to see an ongoing and stronger partnership between both the Paseo Alliance, Paseo Alumni Association, and the current Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts.
Were not getting any younger, but I hope everybody is getting better. I know we have lost some Class Mates but the rest of you LIVE ON. My Aunt just died at 104. Good luck everybody
Stan
I do volunteer work, researching men and women who died in combat in World War 2 for the Stories Behind the Stars project. One of my assignments was Robert E. Young, class of 1937. I was coming up blank on finding information on him until I found a newspaper article that mentioned he was a Paseo student. I did a quick internet search and found your PaseoHighSchool.org site. I wanted to thank you so much for putting your yearbooks online, available for anyone. It gave me the opportunity to have a photograph of "Bob" for the project and a little bit of insight as to his personality when he was a graduating senior. I saw that you have an In Memoriam page. He is not listed there with the Class of '37. If you would like, you can contact me via email and I can send you the information I've gathered on him. If you want to keep it simple, he died on August 1, 1943. He was a bombardier in a B-24 Liberator and died on the Ploesti mission now known as Operation Tidal Wave. Thanks again! All the best, Katherine
Paseo Alliance Response: Katherine, as the webmaster of the Paseo High School website, I want to thank you for taking the time to find out more about Bob, before he died. And thank you for completing the Contact Us page with information about Bob and you. When you get the time, please send me all you have gleaned about Bob through your research. Most interesting, I am sure.

Can you tell name the exact date the class of 1984 graduated? We are planning our 40th reunion and we have not figured out the exact date
Paseo Alliance Response: Hi Tina. Unfortunately, even Google doesn't seem to have the answer to your question! The best we can do is suggest you reach out to your class and see who has saved a graduation program or has a dated photo from that event.
Best wishes for a great reunion next year!

I lived on East 48th St., almost directly behind Paseo. I was in the Band (Drum Major my sr. year), Eugene Beeman was the director. Also in the A Capella Choir under "Miss Zimmie" ( Margurite Zimmerman) on the Traffic Squad, and don't remember what all else. I'm 92, married to my wife, Beverly for 71 years, we are both still in pretty good shape. I just happened on this web site - so glad I did!
My wife Sharolyn Spinner, class of 1967, passed away January 27, 2021.
Paseo Alliance Response: Gary, it isn't easy to see your wife go. Thanks so much for letting us know. Her name has been noted and she was added to our In Memoriam page.

Our organization and Paseo needs to be oriented in the future rather then the past. Empathy and International National Happiness. And figure out what we should do before March 20, 2023, International Happiness Day!
My friend Mona Hartzler suggested I say hi. I too, went to GRACELAND Elementary and would have been in the Class of 1961, had my parents not moved us to Mission, then Overland Park, so I became one of "those guys" from Shawnee Mission North. One of my friends from 3rd through half of 6th grade was Jimmy (James) Bashford.. I searched for him for many years and never found him till my Mother sent me a clipping about his passing. The story of what transpired THEN is something I'd be honored to deliver at nne of your quarterly lunch gatherings... Yeah, I many have not gone to Paseo, but all my friends sure did, so guess maybe that was it. I'm in Colorado, so the journey will have to wait, but Mona can fill you in.
My husband, Hans E. Liemen was a 1938 graduate of Paseo H. S. He passed away on January 1, 2013. Please add his name to the "In Memoriam" page. Thank you.
Paseo Alliance Response: Thank you for letting us know. I will forward the information to the man in charge of our website so your husband can be added.

Greetings...My father and his two brothers attended Paseo in the early 1940s. At the time announcements that the school was to be demolished a watercolor artist offered a watercolor rendering of the original building school with the rocks. I purchased this for my father who has since passed. It is a quality painting, 44/500, framed, and matted.
If you have knowledge of the artist (Generiene Humphreys--spelling taken from painting, perhaps not fully accurate) or individuals or organizations interested in this painting please direct me. Thank you in advance.
Hello, my name is Coach Antwine. We are bringing sports back to Paseo High School this year. We would like for your class to a sports sponsors as well. You can send a donation to the school for your class. We are looking forward to announcing our former class sports sponsor this new year.
My brother Gary M. Fifield died May 10,1985. He was a 1957 Paseo Graduate.
At the time of his death, he was the Managing Director of the Washington Opera at The Kennedy Center in DC.
Paseo Alliance Response: Lillene, thanks for sharing the news of your brother's passing. We will be sure to make a note of it on The Paseo Alliance website in two places.
My Dad Paul J Warrington,Sr. passed away January 16, 2023
My friend, Anna Marie Petterson taught at Paseo high school. She has moved to a nursing home in Iowa. She has a beautiful framed print of Paseo high school, by Bill Wright ‘03. She is trying to find a home for it. Are there archives of Paseo where this could be displayed.
I would like to volunteer for the committee.
Paseo Alliance Response: Hi Teresa. Thanks for your interest in joining The Paseo Alliance Steering Committee! We would be pleased to have you with us.
Normally, we meet the first Wednesday of the month usually at the Trailside Center, 9901 Holmes, at 1:00. But several members also go to Dinner Theater on Wednesdays, and this one falls on our meeting date, so in January we will meet on the 12th. On the months when we have the luncheons, however, we like to meet with the speaker at a restaurant to get an idea of what they will talk about and what their needs may be, such as for a projector and screen. Our January speaker is the current Paseo Academy principal, Dr. Hayes. She will join us for lunch at Caleb's at Red Bridge Shopping Center on Wednesday, January 12 at 11:30. We furnish lunch for the speaker at this meeting, but the rest of us pay our own way.
Then in February, we will go back to our usual 1st Wed. meeting at the Trailside Center at 1:00. You are welcome to join us for either or both of these months to see, after getting acquainted with us, if you would still like to join the committee! We have added your email address to our committee list, so you will get the meeting notices and other email discussion we may have between meetings. I hope you can join us at Caleb's in January. I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with you.
Let me know if you have questions, either by email or my cell # is 816-337-0080.

My Father, George Heizman, attended Paseo, I believe, from 1942-1944. I wondered if there was a way to find his name in those yearbooks. I can't seem to open the pages you have displayed. Also yesterday, I obtained a 1945 Paseon from someone in Lee's Summit. I'd love to donate it, if you keep any hard copies somewhere. Just let me know. Thanks.
Paseo Alliance Response #1: Good morning Barbara, and thank you for reaching out to us at the Paseo Alliance concerning your trying to locate information about your father, George Heizman. Since I'm responsible for the information found on the Paseo Alliance website, I thought I should tackle your question.
My first avenue was to check out the list of Seniors in the 1942 Paseon, since you thought he attended from 1942-1944, but I didn't find his name listed as a Senior. The information shown stopped on page 15 of the Paseon with Elmer Farrington. I then clicked on the View more link in the lower left corner to open the full yearbook. I scrolled all the way to the end of the yearbook, but found that the names of each person going to Paseo in 1942 wasn't listed. Another strike out.
So I moved on to 1943 and your father George was listed as a Senior, after clicking on the View more link. So I scrolled to the back of the Paseon, but found that they had followed the scheme of the 1942 Paseon, not listing all of the names of people who attended Paseo High School. So it is now on to 1944.
Bingo. On page 84 is a picture and information about George Edwin Heizman as a Senior, who I'll assume is your father. But unfortunately like the 1942 and 1943 Paseons, there isn't a listing of each student attending Paseo in the Index. So if you want to see more of your father's pictures, you'll have to hunt through all the pages.
I also clicked on the Student Roster By Last Name in the left column, scrolled down to the H group and found a George Edwin Heizman listed as graduating in 1944.
If your father passed, on what day and year did his passing take place? I want to list that information on the website. If George is still living, good for him.
As far as donating any Paseon Yearbooks, I'd recommend taking them to the Midwest Genealogy Center, a component of the Mid-Continent Public Library, 3440 S Lee's Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64055, (816) 252-7228. From talking with one of their representatives, they would be happy to take any Paseon you have, even if it might be a duplicate.
It is hoped that this provides the answers you were looking for, but if you need further information about The Paseo Alliance and the original Paseo High School, please don't hesitate to reach out to this group.

I think of my high school days often. It was a big part of my former life. I loved all my years there. I have been in Michigan since 1957. Married 1956, June. Moved in Jan. '57. Divorced 1982, remarried 1991. Two children, 7 grands, 2 great grands. Would love to revisit. Haven't been "home" in over 7 years. Family I grew up with deceased. Only me left.
Paseo Alliance Response: Thanks for your history and for your interest. We hope the website was useful for reliving your memories. If there is anything we could do for you, just let us know.

Lynn Estelle (Camino) Hagar, age 70, passed away, July 10, 2013, in Flower Mound, TX. She was born on June 4, 1943 in Jackson Heights, NY to Albion and Estella Camino. At age 9, her family moved from New York to Kansas City, MO, where she grew up. Lynn graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO in 1961 and graduated with a B.A. degree from William Woods College in May of 1965, majoring in accounting. She married her college sweetheart, Richard E. Hagar, on June 26, 1965 in Grandview, Missouri.
Lynn was always interested in music, especially, singing. She sang in her church choir while in high school and in the choir at college. In 1974, Lynn joined the Somerset Valley Chorus , a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, the worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. When her husband and family was sent to Melbourne, Australia in 1981 on a 3-year business assignment, Lynn missed the singing and camaraderie of Sweet Adelines. She decided to put her energy and efforts into establishing the first chartered Sweet Adelines chorus in Australia. Her work culminated in the chartering of the Yarra Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines in early 1983. Today, there are almost 3 dozen Sweet Adelines chapters in Australia.
Lynn is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard E. Hagar; sons, Richard W. Hagar and his wife Julie and Michael A. Hagar; grandchildren, Kyle and Eric Hagar; numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Douglas Frank Camino. Services will be held a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The American Stroke Association at http://www.strokeassociation.org
Paseo Alliance Response: Thanks for telling us about Lynn's passing. We're so glad you passed on this information, and want to let you know that the Paseo Alliance website has been updated, not only with your mother's information, but also your message.

My mother, Constance Flanders Craig, was a graduate of Paseo High School in 1928! I have her original Paseo diploma, calling card and graduation invitation. Is there a place to archive these historical pieces? Also I would like to know the history of the school from it's inception. Is that available? And yes my mother has been gone for 20 years but these mementos reflect her pride in the school that they were tucked away.
Paseo Alliance Response:
Sharon
We do try to archive Paseo HS historical items and display some at our quarterly luncheons (which are currently suspended because of COVID). We would be pleased to receive your mother’s items if you are willing to give them up. You can mail them to me at the address below at your convenience.
We would like to include your mother’s name and date of birth and death on our web site under our memoriam list if you will let me know those dates.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you again for the information and we will look forward to receiving the items from you.

I am sorry to report that Gwen (Rindom) Wilson class of 1966 passed away on February 4, 2021 from Covid. She had two brothers who preceded her in death. Ron Rindom class of 1963 and David Rindom class of 1968. All were amazing. We were neighbors and friends since they moved into the neighborhood about 1951.
Paseo Alliance Response: Thanks for filling out the Contact Us form and letting us know about Gwen's passing. Her information on The Paseo Alliance website has been updated. We also were not aware of the passing of David, so his information has also been updated with the information we have. By any chance, do you know the date of death for Ron or David? Currently they are shown as an unknown date of death, and we would like to have our files updated.

Want to be a part of Paseo's history call me and let me know how i can help
Paseo Alliance Response: I (Leon Barnes) telephoned this guy and left a message for him to call me. Not sure exactly what he has in mind. He was not in the 1979 Paseon or on our student list. Will let you know his response. This was after another Board Member made contact with Christopher and told him that someone else would be contacting him.
Hello, I'm not understanding why my name is not listed. I didn't walk across the stage but I graduated 1990. Thank you
Paseo Alliance Response: In response to your enquiry on the Paseo voices on the Alliance web site, your name will be added to the student roster. The roster was compiled from senior photos in the respective yearbooks. Your photo did not appear in the 1990 yearbook and therefore your name was not included. Sorry, but that was the only information we had at the time. We are happy to add names to the list if they are brought to our attention. Your name will be added today.
Searching for any information on Paseo H. S.. Alumna Gayle French, who appears on multiple pages in the yearbooks from 1954-1956. Specifically looking for names of parents and/or spouse and current and past residences for the purpose of genealogical research. I believe she went on the the University of Missouri.
Paseo Alliance Response: We will post your enquiry on Home (paseohighschool.org). Maybe someone will respond.
Diana Moberly Bowers passed away Dec. 17th, 2020, She was in class of '65.
Paseo Alliance Response: Thanks Sharon. Diana's information has been updated on this website.
Would love to hear from anyone that attended Graceland with me. I have such good memories of that time.
Paseo Alliance Response: We will respond to Dixie with a list of those from Graceland that attend the quarterly Paseo Alliance Luncheons. 10/07/2020
How would I get a 2004 year book
Paseo Alliance Response: Several suggestions were given including contacting the school and Classmates. It was also suggested that she may contact someone from her class who might allow her to scan the yearbook herself. The last suggestion was contacting some used and rare book dealers who sometimes come across yearbooks when they make estate purchases or other purchases of used books. They're connected to other dealers but that yearbook might be too new for them to possibly have a copy. 09/17/2020
Just wanted to let you know that I know of three people from the class of 1964 have passed away. Terry Hubbard and Don Signor (sp? Sinor) and Mercy Wolf (sp? Merci Wolfe).
