Recipes 2008

 

Here are some of the recipies from the Paseo Alliance picnic at Loose Park on October 5, 2008.

FRANK’S APPLE PASTRIES                                                                  Frank Stockwell 10/2008

Cinnamon

2 sticks butter

2 pkgs crescent rolls

2 cups sugar

2 apples, peeled, each cut into 8 pieces

8 oz Mountain Dew

 

Unroll crescent rolls and lay flat, leave attached.  Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon.  Put one piece of apple on each crescent roll and rolls up and place in pan.

Melt 2 sticks butter with 2 cups of sugar.  Pour over rolls.

Pour 8 oz of Mountain Dew around edge of pan.

Bake at 350ºF for 45 minutes.

 

SHARON’S MACAROONS                                                                                   Sharon 10/2008

Egg white

1 ½ tsp vanilla

2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/8 tsp salt

3 ½ cups coconut

 

 

Mix egg white and condensed milk together with fork.  Then mix in coconut, vanilla and salt.

Using rounded tablespoon drop onto parchment paper on cookie sheet or silicone baking  sheet.  Bake at 350ºF to 375ºF for 25 minutes or until browned.

 

SHIRLEY’S CABBAGE SALAD                           Shirley Stock Storey, Class of ’61,  10/2008

Head of cabbage, shredded

Dressing:

2 pkgs Ramen noodles (don’t use

6 tbsp sugar

     seasoning)

6 tbsp red or white vinegar

8 tbsp sesame seeds

1 cup salad oil

8 tbsp almonds, slivered

Salt & Pepper

 

Brown noodles, sesame seeds and almonds in butter.  Add to shredded to cabbage.

Pour dressing over all and mix.
